2. Core Clinical & Technical Responsibilities

In daily clinical practice, a Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs the following core responsibilities:

• Measure and chart routine patient vital signs—blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, pulse oximetry (SpO2), and pain levels—in the electronic health record.
• Assist patients with all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bed baths, oral hygiene, grooming, dressing, toileting, and Foley catheter care.
