In daily clinical practice, a Physical Therapist performs the following core responsibilities:

All entry-level physical therapists must earn a three-year clinical Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). Admission requires a four-year bachelor’s degree (often in exercise science, kinesiology, or biology) with prerequisite coursework in anatomy and physiology, physics, chemistry, biology, statistics, and psychology.
